Invent device to tell if a watermelon is ripe.

We know how to build a space vehicle to reach Mars, we know how to replicate human parts using stem cells, we do not know how to tell if a watermelon is ripe for sure.

Every year, give or take, 39 million watermelons are sold in the US only. (http://www.agmrc.org/commodities__products/vegetables/watermelon/)

Significant part of those watermelon buyers wishes, there was a device, to ensure their family is going to be enjoying red delicious fruit.

There were several attempts to invent a device, including iPhone applications. None of them worked.

Math:

assuming 10% of 39 million US buyers of watermelons will buy this device.
(3,900,000 buyers)

assuming the cost of the device is $5
(3,900,000 X $5 = $19,500,000 gross)
